Position:                              Paralegal I (Dept. of Labor #30361)

Location:                               Washington, DC
Term:                                    Temporary position:  June 1, 2016 through August 31, 2016 (3 months)

 
Duties/Responsibilities:
ENRD is looking for an individual with solid litigation paralegal and trial presentation skills to assist with trials this summer.  This individual will perform the following tasks while complying with established procedures:  
*Compile, prepare, and summarize relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents
*Summarize depositions and other transcripts
*Maintain case files
*Perform simple legal research
*Perform searches in Relativity or other document review tools
*Index, track and control document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery)
*Indexes and tracks and exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial
*Prepare exhibit cross-references, witness binders and trial notebooks
*Run Sanction trial presentation software during trial
 
Required Qualifications:
*Paralegal Certificate or J.D.
*At least 2 years litigation paralegal and trial experience:  deposition and trial preparation, exhibit and witness binders, scheduling/coordinating witness testimony
*Hands-on familiarity with Relativity
*Hands-on familiarity with Sanction
*Hands-on familiarity in the “hot seat” presenting with Sanction at trial
*Hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources. 
*Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, PowerPoint and hardware systems.   
*Sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources and tools, including LexisNexis and Westlaw
*Ability to work independently with little supervision
*Excellent written and oral communication skills
*Ability to deliver consistently high-quality work under tight deadlines and extreme pressure
*Ability to work overtime as directed
*Ability to travel as directed
*Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
*Must be U.S. Citizen
