Duties/Responsibilities:

 Performing legal research and summarizing findings on cases as assigned by the EADI Attorneys
  • Performing document reviews (i.e. via ImageNow document management database or in response to Legal Advice Requests)
  • Retrieving documents from external sources (i.e. PACER and/or CourtLink)
  • Uploading documents to ImageNow
  • Verifying ImageNow entries and daily reports
  • Coordinating with the OFM A/R Team and/or OFM Enforcement Treasury Operations Branch (ETOB) on a day to day basis, as needed (i.e. processing of Turnover Orders, Adjustments, or other accounting events)
  • Assisting in Standard Operating Procedures and Policy reviews and revisions as needed
  • Performing routine internal control functions, including reconciliations and sample testing
  • Assisting with monitoring and tracking flagged cases
  • Maintaining information in databases such as OFM’s Disgorgement Analysis System (DAS)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to work overtime as directed
  • Must be able to travel, if required
 
Required Qualifications. 
 
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree
  • Requires two (2) years of experience in litigation, such as trial support, cite checking legal motions and memoranda, etc.
  • Automated litigation support and document management software experience is required, such as Recommind, Relativity, Concordance, Summation, ImageNOW, etc.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS/NEXIS, CLEAR, Westlaw, PACER or CourtLink  
    Desired Qualifications:
     
  • Paralegal Certificate, preferred
  • Reading Comprehension – Legal Documents
  • Detail Oriented
  • Computer skills – Proficient with Adobe Professional, Microsoft Word formatting and basic Microsoft Excel
  • Must have and use excellent oral and written communications skills due to collaboration with many groups, internal and external
  • Highly organized
  • Able to multitask
  • Practical experience
  • Experience with ImageNOW, PACER or CourtLink highly valued
  • Able to work independently on tasks without the need for continuous input from SEC staff
  • Able to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important
