Currently, we are seeking a Proxy Administrator in Arlington, VA. The selected candidate must be able to obtain government security clearance, per contract requirements (DoD Clearance Level: Secret).
 
There are quite a myriad of tasks and responsibilities included in the role of Proxy Administrator support, such as:
 
  • Experience working with open source and commercial Proxy servers and configurations
  • Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information
  • Administer internet/intranet infrastructure, including components such as web, file transfer protocol (FTP), news and mail servers
  • Collaborate with web developers to create and operate internal and external web sites and manage projects
  • Collaborate with development teams to discuss, analyze, or resolve usability issues
  • Develop web site performance metrics
  • Set up or maintain monitoring tools on web servers or web sites
  • Check and analyze operating system or application log files regularly to verify proper system performance.
  • Test issues such as system integration, performance, and system security on a regular schedule or after any major program modifications
  • Recommend web site improvements, identify or address interoperability requirements, evaluate or recommend server hardware or software
  • Implement web site security measures, such as firewalls or message encryption
  • Monitor systems for intrusions or denial of service attacks, and report security breaches to appropriate personnel
  • Identify or document backup or recovery plans
  • Completes network change requests in accordance with service level agreements
  • Troubleshoots firewall and network problems and recommends corrective procedures
  • Background performing incident response and digital forensics
Labor Category Qualification: 

MS or higher and/or 15+  years of experience

Labor Category Description:

Provides support to plan, coordinate, and implement the organization’s information security. Provides support for facilitating and helping agencies identify their current security infrastructure and define future programs, design and implementation of security related to IT systems. Oversees the efforts of security staff to design, develop, engineer and implement solutions to security requirements. Responsible for the implementation and development of the DHS IT security. Gathers and organizes technical information about an organization's mission goals and needs, existing security products, and ongoing programs in the MLS arena. Performs risk analyses which also includes risk assessment. Provides support to plan, coordinate, and implement the organization’s information security. Provides support for facilitating and helping agencies identify their current security infrastructure and define future programs, design and implementation of security related to IT systems. A working knowledge of several of the following areas is required: understanding of business security practices and procedures; knowledge of current security tools available; hardware/software security implementation; different communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools; familiarity with commercial products, and current Internet/EC technology. Ability to serve as Information System Security Officer. Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.
